Struggling to Hire? Step Up Your Benefits Package!

If you want to recruit the best new talent, take a good long look at your benefits package. 

As a whole, the dental industry is falling behind other healthcare providers (and the larger business community) in offering the kind of benefits that make potential hires sit up and take notice.

So, what to consider? Here’s a big one: supporting work-life balance.

Take PTO, for example. When so many jobs are handing out two weeks paid vacation upfront, would you choose the one that doesn’t?

You might assume, too, that most employees will prefer the traditional nine-to-five schedule. Don’t. While that may work for some, others may do better with flexible hours, evening shifts, or working remotely (where possible).

Health insurance is a big deal for some (and any dental practice worth its salt should be sure to offer dental coverage). Younger employees, though, are often more likely to care about having a job that complements their life rather than consuming it.

To compete in a crowded hiring market, take the time to really think about what you can do to make your team’s lives better — at work and at home.
